The Simpsons is an American animated sitcom created by Matt Groening for the Fox broadcaster. This series is a satirical portrayal of American life, embodied by the Simpsons of Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa, and Maggie. Set in the fictional city of Springfield, the show is a parody of American culture and society, television, and the human condition. There have been innumerable episodes of the Simpsons in the past, where they say/do stuff, that has actually come true in real life. So without further ado, let’s get into the top 10 Simpsons predictions for 2022.
Top 10 Simpsons predictions for 2022
A friendly Spokesperson
Back in 2007, when the Simpsons hit the big screen, we had to pay movie admission prices to see the spider pig bit, which was more than fair. The Simpsons movie was full of celebrity cameos because it starts with a green day. Tom Hanks also makes an appearance that, of course, is always fun. He just shows up and says, “Hi! I am Tom Hanks,” which is one of the most memorable lines in the movie.
Hanks continues this bit by saying the US government has lost its credibility. In 2022 Tom Hanks still looks like the fine wine, of course, but now he is the real-life spokesperson for the US government, this time, he is not animated and supports Biden’s administration.
Billionaires in space
The Simpsons predicted Richard Branson’s space excursion back in season 25 in the episode titled the War of Art, and that was back in 2014. Recently Richard Branson blasted off the planet to float around virgin airlines for a bit. Right now, NASA and Tom cruise are partnering up to make movies in space.
Virtual Reality
In a Simpsons episode back in 2016 titled ‘Friends and Family,’ a new virtual reality headset arrives in Springfield, and its \residents can’t keep their eyes off it. They are walking around the streets while wearing headsets, cars are swerving around people wearing their headsets, and everybody’s in their virtual worlds. But in real-time, it’s chaos. This is the new future, according to The Simpsons.
Big Ben would become digital
The Simpsons predicted that Big Ben would be digital. An episode from 1995 to the future sees Lisa traveling to England to meet her future husband’s parents, and Big Ben goes digital in this future.
Robots are in real life
The Simpsons have touched on robots a few times. Actually, in 2012 they predicted that a great number of jobs would be lost to robots, which is exactly what is happening right now. Back in 1994, the Simpsons episode titled ‘Itchy and Scratchy Land’ showed a theme park full of robots that go crazy and then end up attacking civilians. Boy, I hope that doesn’t happen.
People can go to Mars
One episode of the Simpsons shows the family visiting the big red planet come 2051. I feel like we are going to Mars soon because SpaceX is already planning to send people out there. So it can be possible.

Goodbye is no longer needed
Season 11, episode 17, called ‘Bart to the Future’ is a classic. We see a future where goodbyes are no longer needed and says we should stop shaking hands. Recently we were forced to do the same due to the coronavirus pandemic; some distance between us. So what’s next? Could we not say goodbye to each other anymore?
The Trucker’s Convoy
Simpsons might have predicted in season 10, episode 17, where Homer and Bart go on a cross-country journey as truck drivers. While doing so, they encounter a truck convoy, and then the trucks attempt to run them off the road before blocking the road completely.
In fact, when Homer first spots the truck, he says to his son, “Can’t look, son, it’s one of nature’s most beautiful sights,” referring to the convoy. This episode aired in 1999. Many people think that the Simpsons predicted the whole trucker protest situation.
Bigfoot exists
So there are two episodes which are claiming that Bigfoot exists; in one of the episodes, Homer is on a camping trip and ends up looking like Bigfoot after falling into some mud and then being captured by scientists for observation. They think they have finally found this mysterious beast. Then in an episode in 2002 titled ‘The Bart Wants What It Wants,’ Bart encounters Bigfoot while coming out from a bus in Canada.

In an episode in 1997, the Simpsons referred to it. This is from season eight, titled ‘My Sister My Sitter.’ In the episode, there is a scene where Homer and Marge are on a date outside. In the background, we see a crypto barn with the slogan a place for codes.
About The Simpsons
The Simpsons is an American animated sitcom created by Matt Groening for the Fox broadcaster. The family was invented by Groening shortly before bidding on a series of animated shorts with producer James L. Brooks. He created a dysfunctional family, named the character after his own family, and replaced his name with Bart.
He thought he was an interesting name because Simpson sounded like “Simpson“. Shorts became part of The Tracey Ullman Show on April 19, 1987. After three seasons, the sketch expanded to a 30-minute prime-time show, making it the first Fox series to be in the Top 30 of the season (1989-1990).
