The New Hampshire gubernatorial election will be held on November 8, 2022, to elect the governor of New Hampshire. Because New Hampshire has no term limits for governor, incumbent Republican Chris Sununu is eligible for a fourth two-year term. 

Sununu had “expressed interest” in running for US Senate with incumbent Democrat (and former governor) Maggie Hassan in 2022. However, on November 9, 2021, he declared that he would run for a fourth term mandate as governor.

Chris Sununu, The Incumbent Governor

Chris Sununu (right-wing) is the Governor of New Hampshire. He took office on January 5, 2017. His current term ends on January 4, 2023. Sununu is seeking re-election as governor of New Hampshire. He is appearing in the Republican primaries on September 13, 2022.

Before he was elected Governor of New Hampshire, Sununu served three terms on the New Hampshire Executive Committee from 2011 to 2017. Sununu is the son of former Governor John H. and the brother of former Senator John E Sununu.

Chris Sununu was first elected to the New Hampshire State Executive Committee in 2010 and served three terms. Sununu worked as an environmental engineer for 10 years. After leading a group of investors in an acquisition, he became the CEO of Waterville Valley Ski.

Sherman (Democrat) is running for governor of New Hampshire. He is on the ballot in the Democratic primary on September 13, 2022. Sherman is a former New Hampshire House Democrat who represented Rockingham 24 from 2012 to 2016.
