Consolidated Communications (CCI), a leading broadband provider, has announced its success in expanding Fidium Fiber broadband services in Pennsylvania this year.
According to the announcement, Fidium Fiber service availability has doubled and will now be accessible to around 28,000 local homes and businesses in the state by 2023.
Reportedly, the company has laid over 370 miles of fiber optic cable.
In a press release, Gabe White, the senior director of outside plant engineering at Consolidated Communications, said, ‘Reliable, high-speed internet is no longer just a luxury but a necessity.
We are excited to have connected even more Pennsylvania communities to Fidium Fiber over the past year. We’ve seen firsthand how fiber improves lives and how much of a game-changer it will be for local residents and businesses.’
Headquartered in Mattoon, Illinois, Consolidated Communications provides broadband and business communication services.
It ranks among the top ten fiber providers in the United States, offering a wide range of services, including data, internet, voice, cloud, and IT services to business customers and internet, TV, phone, and home security services to residential customers across 23 states.

Consolidated Communications provides Fidium Fiber in multiple states, including California, Illinois, Maine, Minnesota, New Hampshire, Pennsylvania, Texas, and Vermont.
The company initiated the construction of its all-fiber Fidium network in 2021 and has achieved this significant milestone by completing construction in approximately 14,600 locations, including Allegheny, Armstrong, and Butler counties in the state.
Last April, Consolidated Communications announced plans to provide fiber services to 30,500 addresses in Gibsonia, Cranberry Township, Mars, Saxonburg, Valencia, and Wexford counties of Pennsylvania.
