Spencer Cox, the 18th governor of Utah, is an American lawyer and politician raised in Fairview. He served as the 8th lieutenant governor of Utah from the year 2013 to 2021 and since January 4th, 2021, he is serving as the governor of Utah. He is a member of the Republican Party. He is married to Abby Palmer and has 4 children. Born on 11th July 1975, he has completed 46 years of his age. He was a part of the 6th generation of a farming family in rural Fairview. Spencer Cox graduated from North Sanpete High School. Then he enrolled for an associate’s degree at Snow College. Spencer Cox clerked for Judge Ted Stewart of the U.S. District Court, Utah after finishing law school. He joined a law firm, Fabian and Clendenin. Then, he returned to Utah and became the vice president of CentraCom.
In 2004, he was elected as a city councilor of Fairview, Utah, and as a Mayor in 2005. In 2008, Spencer Cox was elected as a Sanpete County Commissioner. In 2012, he became a member of the Utah House of Representatives when he called for the impeachment of John Swallow, the attorney general of Utah over violations of campaign and finance laws. Spencer Cox and Lieutenant Bell served as co-chairs of Governor Herberts’s Rural Partnership Board.
